The Quick Guy’s Guide to buying Lingerie for her on Valentine’s Day

A guy in a store buying lingerie can be as confused as a duck in a kennel, he’s going to be wondering why everyone is barking and all he does is quack!

Whether in a virtual or physical store, a guy trying to buy lingerie can be a difficult task, he just won’t be able to speak the language, and will most times require some help from the kind people – or bots – in the store.

However, with Valentine’s day just a week away, we know more and more men will be venturing into the uncharted territory of intimate female clothing in a bid to get their significant others and special ones something pretty, frilly and lacey to celebrate the day.

The confusing part can be deciding what to buy, and then also having to worry about getting the right color and size. So to help a little with the search, here’s a quick guide to buying lingerie for Valentine’s Day.

1. Decide who you’re buying it for: Are you planning to buy lingerie for a girlfriend, wife or fiancée? If you’re thinking of buying for any other female in your life such as a female colleague, close or best friend, or that friend you’re trying to make remove you from the friendzone, don’t. Pro tip; if you haven’t seen her in her underwear before, you don’t have any business buying one for her now. Click to tweet thisTweet: #ProTip; if you haven’t seen her in her underwear before, you don’t have any business buying one for her now - THE QUICK GUY’S GUIDE TO BUYING LINGERIE FOR VALENTINES DAY

2. What kind of personality does she have?: Is she quiet/shy/reserved, or talkative/inquisitive/loud? Stick to lingerie that speaks to her personality, but also try to not get something she already has. So if she’s not particularly adventurous, is quiet, shy or reserved, get her a bra set with a little extra lace, simple satin chemises with bows and maybe a matching thong or bikini brief with lace trimmings and some bows at the sides or just one bow in front.

However, if she’s the adventurous type, feel free to go overboard with more skin or lace trimmings and elastic than fabric. You can get her something that comes with garter belts, lace babydolls with thigh high stockings that come in mesh or fishnet fabric. Practically all those names might fly over your head, but don’t get too alarmed, just make a list based on which applies to her, and take it with you to the store, it’ll serve as a foundation for the other choices you have to make, such as colour and size, and help make it easier for you to get in and out without feeling too frustrated about the entire process.

So there you have it. Just two simple steps really, and you’re on your way to navigating the confusing lines and corners of both the virtual and physical lingerie store.
